OSIDIS is the first European Internet back up system. Developed in 1997 by Dimitri Perraudin under the name NetBackup, it was used only by large enterprises connected to the Internet.
At the time, the transfer speed was not fast enough to back up large amounts of data.
Today, most small businesses have fast connections to the Internet via Broadband or xDSL. |
