What happens if I have forgotten my Password? Do I have access to my files when I am away from my business? What happens when my files leave my computer? Do you have several back up sites? |

What happens if I have forgotten my Password? Your Password never goes out of the boundaries of your own computer. If you have forgotten your Password and you do not have the OSiDiS program installed on your computer anymore, we regretfully cannot help you. If you still have the OSiDiS program installed on your computer with your Password, you can send us the config.db file as well as the config.ndx file to password@osidis.com. Attention: This approach would open access to your Password as well as your files. Do I have access to my files when I am away from my business? You can download the OSiDiS Program for free at http://www.osidis.com/download/setup.exe. Then you must reinstall OSiDiS and enter your User Name, your Password and your Secret Code without clicking on the green button on the right of the "Password" field. This will allow you to access your files from anywhere. QWhat happens when my files leave my computer? When OSiDiS backs-up a file, it is compressed, encoded with your Secret Code, and then sent away from your computer to be stored as is on the back up server. When you restore a file using the OSiDiS program, it comes back to your computer, gets decoded and finally decompressed. Do you have several back up sites? Currently we have 4 back up sites: Chicago (USA), Lyon (France), Brussels (Belgium), and Tournai (Belgium). On each back up site, the servers are configured in clusters to insure maximum availability. We currently use a 35Mb connection on each site. |
